blue square dot In Bloom (Justyn Wilson, Carl B. Wilson, Mario Tucker) and Billy Hinsche participated in The American Cancer Society's 10th Annual “Golf Classic,” held April 12, 1999. Justyn Wilson came inches away from winning the 10th hole “Closest to the Hole” prize. (All members of In Bloom are avid golfers. Uncle Billy is not quite as adept as his “nephews.” When asked what his handicap was, Billy responded, “Myself.”) A silent auction was held prior to dinner. Among the items available for bidding was a Carl Wilson Long Promised Road CD donated by Capitol Records. Bidding started at $75 and, after a fierce bidding war, the winner donated $210 for this rare CD. A classic Beach Boys' tee shirt, donated by Alan and Mary Ann Jardine and signed by all the members of BBFF, was also available. Starting bid was $50 and was “sold” for $80. (1/17/99)
